Introducing "Mrs. Burnthorpe III"

Diane discovered her alter ego, “Mrs. Burnthorpe III”, when she realized she needed to break the stigma of Etiquette. She realized that many people today believed etiquette was for those of a bygone era or that etiquette was only for those who were of a grander stature.

Etiquette is needed more in today’s world than ever before.

When you see Diane take the stage to speak on the Fundamentals of Etiquette in all aspects of your daily life, you will undoubtedly remember the message of Mrs. Burnthorpe III!

“I just wanted to drop you a short note to say thank you for such a great training session.  It was very informative, but also game me an opportunity to pay more attention to some of the things I do and how to make some positive changes.  I walked away from that session feeling like I learned something.  I can honestly say that is the first time I have ever attended a training session on etiquette and manners.  They always seem to be on client care and safety.  What a refreshing idea.  It …

Diane, I would personally like to thank you for educating me on the importance of etiquette. Through your enthusiastic personality, you have given me the confidence and interpersonal skills that are necessary for success in life. Your expertise, knowledge, and your passion for proper etiquette is commendable. I would highly recommend and encourage anyone thinking about taking the Etiquette Trilogy Workshops to do so.

Thank you so much for speaking at our staff meeting about respect in the workplace and business etiquette. We all need a reminder about the three R’s: Respect, Restraint, and Responsibility.

When I first heard about the Etiquette Essentials course I knew I had to sign up.  As a already confident woman in business, I realized I needed to ensure that my etiquette was as good if not better than my peers and people I meet.  To me, having proper etiquette is one more essential business tool that I equip myself with to give me the cutting edge.  Thanks to Diane and the Etiquette Essentials course, I now feel even more confident when in both social and business gatherings knowing I can not…

Diane, London & Middlesex Housing Corporation wants to thank you personally for your presentation on Etiquette Essentials in the Workplace you presented to our employees June 2012.  We had great feedback from our employees, both about the subject matter and you as a presenter. You made the topic fun and interesting, and you also taught us all about etiquette mistakes we may have been making without even knowing it. Thanks you again for a wonderful presentation. We hope to have you back.

Diane Gordon
Founder of Etiquette Essentials

Certified as a Corporate Etiquette and International Protocol Consultant, Diane is more than an expert in good manners and etiquette – she builds confidence and success in every aspect of her clients’ lives.

Diane has come a long way from her childhood years where she was well known as a tomboy. When she moved into a new neighbourhood, she was actually mistaken for a boy! There was never a week without a bruised or cut knee and she earned the endearing nickname of “Tangle Foot” from her father.

But all that changed when her mother enrolled the budding etiquette expert into model and charm school at the age of twelve…and with her new-found confidence and determination she became unstoppable.

By 19, Diane was the youngest Realtor in the London St. Thomas Real Estate Board in 1979. For more than three decades, she has grown a successful brokerage with her husband and continues to be committed to lifelong learning.

This commitment led Diane to the prestigious Protocol School of Washington, the only accredited school of its kind in North America, where she learned alongside some of the world’s top corporate executives, military officers, and royalty. Diane has attained the knowledge you can’t find in books.

Diane’s initial goal was to elevate her confidence and professionalism with her education but a pivotal moment presented itself on Flight #777 when she met a brilliant software engineer. He noticed she was reading a book on etiquette and asked, “What is etiquette?” He later explained that the company he recently met with would not let him past three points on his six-point presentation. Diane assumed that company must need etiquette training only to discover when they parted his handshake needed a 911 call.

Diane founded Etiquette Essentials in 2011 with a goal to elevate others through her workshops, seminars, keynotes, and private coaching to be their personal and professional best – either in the boardroom, at a job interview, networking event, cocktail party, or a black tie affair.

She understands the value in tradition and embraces innovation for the future. With the insights and training Diane shares through Etiquette Essentials, her clients learn the skills to be professionally polished and socialize with grace and sophistication.

“Etiquette Is Not the Social Norm. It Is Social Excellence.”
